22006 RE-BIRTH OF THE IDEA
In 2006, the initiative became Youth Aid Society of Nigeria – YASON for short, immediately after the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme. Working in schools and training young peace advocates to volunteered for their communities.
32007 JOINED A NATIONAL YOUTH NETWORK AND 2ND YOUTH JOINT MEETING
In order to get more resources to make this dream come through the main Initiator worked with other national youth networks, and this contributed to the second joint meeting ushering new ideas and change in future of peace education inaugurated.
42007 CHANGES EMERGE IN STRUCTURE AND PROGRAMMES
We launched more vibrant leadership and direction in Nigeria. And then the formal structuring of YOUPEDA began.
52008 NAME CHANGED AND VISION RE- ALLIGNED
The name YASON was changed to Youths for Peace Building & Development in Africa, and first five Board of Directors appointed; YOUPEDA registered with legal Agency of the Federal government.
62009 YOUPEDA MEMBERSHIP ENROLMENT ANNOUNCED AND LAUNCHED
Membership of members stressed and becomes fundamental across places and faces.
72010 ESTABLISHED INTENSE INTERNSHIP AND VOLUNEERSHIP IN PROGRAMES
Different strategies and teams positioned to tackle the conflicts in North central and across the world. Beginning with the journey of lobbying the UN to adopt Youth, Peace and Security Resolution. And World Faith Central became the first donor and partner of YOUPEDA.
82011 GLOBAL NETWORKING AND PARTNERSHIP
We increased the number of partners and our networking working for us and improving our programs.
92012 INTERPLAY TOWARDS POLICY MAKING EXERCISE
A challenged Research competition on EU Development Cooperation in Nigeria- Conflict in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria participated and won by YOUPEDA.
102014 COVERAGE OF NIGERIA
By October 2014 our strategy had achieved more membership and visibility.
